Best thing ever
I can't even explain what this commercial does for me. When it comes on, I stop in my tracks, mouth open and admire these rapping hamsters. Its absolutely genius.

Hip Hop
I love hip hop. Its this weird relationship with something that should be completely foreign to me, yet every time I listen to it, it provokes all the right feelings. I have been listening to the new Drake album on repeat for months now, not to mention my insane collection of ODB (Old Dirty Bastard for those new to his phenomena), NWA (Nigga's With Attitude) and Lil Wayne. I will not dive into the depths of why I think listening to all types of music is best to learn more about yourself and our culture, but it truly does open a world up to me that I can't seem to get enough of. I love this Kid Cudi song.
Permanent
I'm getting a tattoo this weekend. Much to my mothers dismay and my boyfriends excitement. I've always wanted to get another one but never could truly decide the best thing. So the decision has finally been made, I will get a few amazing pieces from the 1930's circus. Think french trapeze artists, lion tamers and elephants!

Fortune Telling
Its weird how I get astrology updates in my inbox at the most opportune times. "Have you met Mr Right?" "Is your career right for you?" These echo in my mind, like a mothers unprovoked advice on a bad day. Its almost as if the universe (i.e. internet world) is trying to tell me something. Sometimes it feels like there are signs pointing things out in front of you everyday and you make a choice to see them or not. I usually choose the not. I think life is for living and predicting the outcome or stressing over the future of "what will be" will only really leave you living a limited version of your actual life. Its like that person in the movie theater telling you every part of the movie before it actually happens. You now aren't enjoying the movie but instead anticipating the next move that you already know about. There is no point to this in your life either. If you are enjoying something right now, then live in that enjoyment. I have a very annoying tendency to anticipate the future events in my life. I also set them in the not so positive light and then work myself up over the idea of this future life. All the while forgetting that this is not my life yet and that right NOW my life is amazing.
if you live for every moment, as you are living it, then you realize that that moment IS your life.
if you live for every moment, as you are living it, then you realize that that moment IS your life.

To tell you the truth, I lied
I'm pretty sure that is one of my favorite phrases of all time. It basically sums up my indecisive contradictory self. Sorry its been WAY too long since I updated you all on my whereabouts. Since I've been gone, far too much has happened for me to update you on. So..like any good multi-tasker-media crazed lady, I will just add a whole bunch of videos and pictures for your enjoyment.
Vanity Fair featured the video my company shot for them today. Love them!
Check it out here
My dear friend, Patrick Fraser started his own blog. You should follow him and feel just as G-L-A-M-O-R-OUS (as Fergie would say) as he is. Read more on his journal, NailedIt

(Oh no biggie...Just taking a speedboat to a party in France)
I believe in transparency in all things. Honesty truly is the best policy. With that being said, here I am a few days ago. Looking work-worthy.

Oh and one of my favorite video's of all time that basically sums up my Cinco De Mayo

Keeping it Mysterious Like Angela Lansbury
As I said before, I believe in the wonder of transparency and telling all of you lovely people who take time to read the bullshit I spew out on here, the cold hard facts of my life, however, there are times when my hands are tied to loyalty and I just can't be the lace like transparent lady I would prefer. So enjoy these updates, and please wait patiently for the 'big reveal.' I promise it will all be worth it!
1. I am starting a new, amazing little company. I can't say much about it now but I can tell you the product of this company (Products Products, Etc--inside joke, sorry)will be something not only I am proud of but will share with all of you the second I can. I will update you more about this as the pieces fall in place.
2. I am going to be an a friends photo book. A dear friend who is a photographer and, who again will have to remain unnamed until I get the go-ahead to talk about this, is putting out an amazing piece of photography art.

Wanting it all like Veruca Salt
I believe at one point I said 'quality over quantity' when it came to crushes. Well...I lied. I'm all about quality AND quantity. I mean, really, can't a 20-something, relatively normal, hot, single lady have it all? Yes, yes please. (oh and did I mention, I have great manners). Just try and watch the video below and not add him to your wish-list of 'Guys To Bed Before I Die' (God, I hope certain people don't read my blog).

What If...
you had a wild night out (yes, sort of like last night) where you were the life of the party, everyones eyes were on you and your hot ass friends shaking their money makers. You meet some fine lad who is ready to whisk you away in his volvo chariot, you get back to his place start the make out, the clothes are peeling off, sex may or may not have been had.You wake up a little dazed, obviously confused and when you roll over to your dismay this is the state your once prince charming is now in...

I mean really is it worse to snore or look like this. I think any girl would choose snoring over the chin hammock look.

Ladies ETIQisforcutETTE
I never claimed I could write well. Eloquently detailing my weekend adventures, morning ramblings or one-liners, I tend to leave to my friends. One friend in particular. I guess my response to another friends party invite was oh-so-tera-appropriate. At the time, it was exactly how I felt and didnt really think twice before quickly typing my three word response and sending away. You can read a little shout out for yourself at my eloquent ladies blog HERE

And this is how it's done
I try not to make too many plans on the weekend. Sometimes its to my benefit (like this weekend) and I end up doing anything and everything I want. I have to admit that I haven't seen the Olympics in probably 10 years, so when my friend invited me over to an 'Opening Ceremonies' party I thought we were going to an Opening Ceremony sample sale. The only thing that pulled me out of my devastation that I wasn't getting new fancy things, was the heart shaped vegan pizza she made.

The weather was perfect on Saturday so I met up with a good friend to go on a little motorcycle ride/estate sale adventure. Let me give fair warning here and say that buying things to transport on a motorcycle is not the best idea. But it was fun...so meh. Oh and of course, you look cute doing it.

This is my tough face.

This is my not so tough face.
And to finish the whole weekend off, I did a little Griffith Park hike with the ladies. Complete with a dance off, a song about underage pee pee and my new found ability to leap like a gazelle.

Tardy to the Party
I'm not one to brag. I mean really we all live in LA and have crazy opportunities (finding yourself at Montel Williams house in Reseda at 4 am) to meet amazing people. But I have to make an exception here. Last night I went to the Canadian Consulates Pre-Grammy Award something-or-other party and was shocked by the performance list of my dreams. Leonard Cohen. Emmylou Harris. Daniel Lanois. I was a little star struck. Thank god I had a fancy little black dress, heels and Stella McCartney blazer distracting them from my childlike grin. The best part of it all was some of my favorite ladies were there to bask in the glory of the event and take full advantage of the free cocktails.

Since I have yet to purchase a new camera, this crappy iPhone picture was the best I could do.

Lovin' and Hatin'
Last night I had dinner with a friend and discovered a few fun facts about them (God, I hope they put the phrase "fun facts" on their "hated" list).
1. They developed their own iPhone app. By the way, how has the term iPhone 'App' (emphasis on App) become an accepted term. This also should be added to said hated list (don't worry, we will get there and you'll understand the list momentarily). Their iPhone app is deliciously brilliant. It's called Photobooth Plus and basically turns any 4 sets of pictures you take into a photo strip. But it gets better, you can change the color of your picture on a sliding color scale, change the time lapse between each photo taken to your preference and immediately post your new strip to Twitter or Facebook. Get your hands on this 'app.' It's amazing. Delicious.
2. App developer friend also has the most amazing blog ever. It's basically all the things they hate delivered with a bit of racism, sexism and humor. I'm not just saying this. I laughed out loud. Who knew racism could be so damn funny? A sample posting from their blog

I hate t hat Wally thinks he’s throwing a gang sign, when in reality, he’s just posing his “Dreamsicle” in front of the camera.

Vice
I don't have many vices. I don't smoke, I rarely drink, and crack has never really been all that appealing (the whole no teeth look isn't really my thing). However, I will admit I am madly addicted to anything sweet. My preferences usually come in the form of cupcakes or anything with peanut butter and chocolate. A good friends childhood friend, that I recently had dinner with mentioned that her dream was to open a cupcake store. Although, there are an abundance of little bakeries and shops solely devoted to cupcakes, there are very few that are actually any good. I hope she opens her new shop soon and preferably around the corner from my house. Here's to sweets!

Rain Retreat

I wish this was where I could be for the next couple days while the storm passes.

Or flying above it and hiding in the blue sky.

Hideaway Home
I have always had plans to own a country home. I've never really had a place in mind but knew that one day I would have one, perhaps on a lake, somewhere. When I found photographer Dan Martensen and his girlfriend, Shannan's Summer home in upstate New York, I fell in love. Although, not a location I would ever have my hideaway (I can say with confidence I could never live in New York, not even for a Summer), everything else about it is perfect--especially the ping pong table!

Rise and Shine
My morning has become some what of a routine, and I am not dissapointed by it. I wake up each day at 6:45am, text my friend a motivational "get the hell out of bed, now" line and get dressed. I drive over to said friends house and at a staggering 7:15am I am running up and down stairs, all the while having a full on in-depth (heart wrenching at times) conversation. To most, this seems unbearable/unthinkable, but for me it is my favorite time of the day. I had always dubbed myself "not one of those morning people" and would lay in bed thinking about all the things my day held until the very last second. I realize now I hated those mornings, and am so grateful to my new routine.
And to finish the work out off, we go back and make Chai Latte's (which cost $0 and of course, help me stay committed to #5-save money-on the below list of personal goals). You know in Sesame Street when they used to say, "This episode has been brought to you by the letter Q" well my trailer would read "This morning has been brought to you by a big cup of Chai Tea."

"The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers."
M. Scott Peck
Circus Lady
My trapeze class has been postponed partly because of the weather and partly because of conflicting schedules my friend and I are having. After I mentioned I wanted to take this class, I have had an amazing number of people in my life who want to join me. I'm so excited to do this and share it with a few friends who are willing to leap 30 feet above the ground. This is how I picture myself after a few classes.

Unconventional
I have always been a fan of the unconventional pet. I always thought that I would be a dog person, and for a while, I did subscribe to the 'dog lover' mentality, but I was mistaken. Don't get me wrong, I like dogs. I just don't loooove dogs. They're like babies to me; cute, fun--just not for me. There are a few pets I can say I would (when my schedule slows down) take into my home and love forever.

Refresh
Not to get overly philosophical here, but it really seems that often the things that hurt the worst in your life, seem to produce a best version of you. When you neglect to use this as an opportunity, to fix yourself in your most vulnerable state, and when you have all the time to self reflect, you are doing everyone a disservice. This is the time, to take what the past has shown you, look at the details of your life and change them. We all make mistakes, but the worst mistake I could every possibly make is re-making the same mistakes. I have learned a lot through some of the recent events in my life on the person I was and the person I want to be. In saying all this, the biggest thing I was neglecting in my life is, well...my life. So back to the things that I always loved, always wanted to do and for some reason forgot to do. And so the list begins.
1. Trapeze classes-This is something I have always wanted to do but never really took the leap (no pun intended). I have signed up for my first class on January 27th.
2. Learn Spanish-This is sort of necessary living in LA.
3. Learn how to play the drums- As a kid I had played quite a bit and the older I got it came and went in my life. I always loved playing but never took the time to do it. Lessons begin next week.
4. Take more pictures- Not necessarily going out and taking pictures, but just taking more when the moment calls for it. I seem to have amazing stories with no physical evidence from a picture.
5. Save Money!-I say that with excitement because I actually love saving money but can't seem to make enough to save. Haha. This one is the big one for 2010 that has already begun.
6. Finish Children story-I have a great start to a children's story that I have been putting off for a few months now. I give myself 6 months to finish it and send it out.
And to start off on the right note, below is my first attempt at #4. "Everytime the wind blows/The butt shows"
