Little Monsters vs Monsters, Inc

I was just watching Little Monsters--the amazing 80's movie with a young fred savage--and realized that Monsters, Inc basically ripped off all their ideas from this movie and even the way the main monster looks. Can anyone have an original idea anymore?

Spring into Spring

I guess no one told mother nature that today was the first day of Spring. It's freezing in LA but I couldn't resist pretending it was Spring. Flowers and Salted Carmel homemade ice cream by Carmela Ice Cream (www.carmelaicecream.com)

The Edison

Last night was my first time seeing the Wednesday carnival meets burlesque meets amazing show at the Edison downtown.

I absolutely loved it and can't wait to take friends! Thanks to Marie for the best table in the house!

Flashback

Khaki pants and a shrunken denim jacket...I'm sorry but looking back on your 3rd grade school portrait shouldnt be your source of inspiration. Needless to say, Band of Outsiders executes this look as clever as a third grader sneaks a kiss behind the classroom.

La Garconne

new arrivals! i've never really considered myself a jewelry type of girl but with the new treats from APC, Kria and Made Her Think I'll gladly be labeled as such.

All of this makes me want to start sending more letters. Goodbye emails.

Back to Basics

I love this! The School of Visual Arts just launched their 'Think' campaign which uses everyday objects made to resemble loose leaf paper (college-ruled of course) so people can write down their ideas.

i know im late on this but I think he deserves every mention. I just watched Milk and was so inspired and touched by his fight for equal rights and recognition of the gay community across the US.

p is for paint

old is the new new

i have been feeling a creative fluster of thoughts recently. when i was a kid i was constantly creating new things; painting, drawing, and generally keeping my ideas moving. it seems with time and distraction I have become less apt to sit with my thoughts and create. ive decided the main reason for this blog is to schedule creativity. as silly as that sounds, it seems without making it a priority and habit in my adult life, i may just go crazy. hjbrguobsrg;94u0ut.....maybe its already starting. here's to creating...something.
